Kelly L. began their work experience at HEB in 1997 as an Administrative Assistant, a role they held until joining Dickinson ISD in 2005. At Dickinson ISD, they served as the Executive Director of Business Operations.

Kelly L. attended Blinn College from 1999 to 2001. Kelly then transferred to Sam Houston State University, where they obtained a Bachelors in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting in 2003.
