Prior to this, Walter worked as an Associate at Windhorst, Gaudry, Ranson, Higgins & Gremillion. Maestri holds a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Catholic University of America.
