Sharon Harrell has a diverse work experience in the arts and community engagement field. Sharon worked at the Detroit Institute of Arts from 2013 to the present, starting as a Studio Outreach Coordinator in the Learning & Interpretation Department. Sharon then moved on to become the Community Relations Coordinator, specializing in engagement and inclusion. Currently, they hold the position of Community Engagement Manager. Before their time at the Detroit Institute of Arts, they worked as the Principal Consultant and Creative Producer at Re(Fab) Creative Consulting. Sharon also served as the Director of Quark Gallery from 2010 to 2012 and was an Audience Development Fellow at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in 2010. Prior to that, Sharon worked at Columbia College Chicago as a Coordinator for Arts in Youth and Community Development from 2007 to 2010.
