Kathy Kieliszewski currently serves as the Senior News Director of Visuals at the Detroit Free Press, a role held since February 2003, where responsibility includes creating a vision for visual storytelling and leading a team of picture editors and photographers. Additionally, Kathy is the Artistic Director of the Freep Film Festival since March 2013, managing the selection and exhibition of documentary films and fostering special programming. Prior experience includes positions as a staff photographer at both the Lansing State Journal and the Grand Rapids Press. Kathy Kieliszewski holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Michigan State University, earned between 1988 and 1992, and graduated from Bishop Foley High School in 1988.
