John Carlisle is an experienced journalist and author, currently serving as a columnist for the Detroit Free Press since January 2013. In addition to this role, John has been an author with The History Press USA since October 2011, where John wrote the book "313: Life in the Motor City." John's previous positions include editor at C&G Newspapers from May 1998 to January 2013, and writer/photographer at Metro Times from September 2007 to December 2012. John also contributed as a writer for Hour Media between 2011 and 2012. John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Wayne State University.
