Richard Bryson

Chief Technician at Denel Dynamics

Richard Bryson has extensive work experience in the aerospace industry, specifically in mechanical design, wind tunnel testing, flight test integration, and aircraft performance. Richard started their career in 1976 as a Turner Machinist at South African Railways. In 1983, they became the Dept Manager for the Low-Speed Wind Tunnel at DPSS (CSIR). Richard then joined Denel Aviation in 1989 as an Aircraft Performance engineer and later worked as a Flight Test Engineer. In 1991, they joined Denel Dynamics as the Chief Technician, where they served as the Mechanical design authority and development Engineer, Wind Tunnel Test Manager, and Flight Test Integration Engineer. During their time at Denel Dynamics, Richard had over 25 years of experience in 3D CAD design of wind tunnel models, jigs, and scientific instrumentation. Richard is also highly skilled in the calibration and use of instrumentation.

Richard Bryson attended Maritzburg College from 1969 to 1974. Richard then went on to study Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering Technology/Technician at Tshwane University of Technology, earning a National Higher Diploma for Engineers from 1981 to 1983.
