Jan van Lopik is a researcher currently affiliated with Deltares since May 2023, having previously worked at KWR Water Research Institute from November 2019 to March 2023, and at Universiteit Utrecht as a PhD candidate from October 2014 to November 2019. Jan's doctoral research focused on the design and optimization of recharge and abstraction well systems in heterogeneous aquifers, particularly in the context of combined construction dewatering and artificial recharge systems. Earlier experiences include an internship at KWR Watercycle Research Institute, where research addressed salinization in stratified aquifers and thermal recovery efficiency in aquifer thermal energy storage, as well as a Master's thesis at Deltares evaluating the feasibility of EcoGrout. Jan holds a Master’s degree in Geohydrology/Geochemistry and a Bachelor’s degree in Geological and Earth Sciences from Utrecht University.
