Jeff Bates is a Defence Scientist at Defence Research and Development Canada since January 2019, bringing a solid background in scientific research and engineering. Prior experience includes serving as a Scientist at NATO STO-CMRE from January 2016 to January 2019 and as an Engineer at Ultra Electronics Marine Systems from November 2013 to December 2015. Jeff also contributed as a Research Assistant at McGill University from September 2006 to October 2013, where a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Condensed Matter Physics was attained. Additional roles include Program Reporter in the Nanoelectronics Division at the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research and Performance Lab Technician at Autosystems Manufacturing inc. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from Queen's University, earned from 2002 to 2006.
