Jay Lemery is a distinguished Professor of Emergency Medicine and Director of the Climate & Health Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine since 2012. Lemery has held multiple prominent roles including Medical Director of the Polar Research Program at the National Science Foundation since 2017, and a Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the Colorado School of Public Health. Additionally, Lemery serves as a Fellow at the Payne Institute for Public Policy and is a member of both the National Academy of Medicine and the Council on Foreign Relations. In collaboration with NASA, Lemery has held positions as Deputy and Associate Element Scientist for Exploration Medical Capability since 2019. Other significant past roles include Visiting Scientist at Harvard School of Public Health, Medical Director for Emergency Medical Services with the United States Antarctic Program, and Consultant for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Education includes an MD from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and a BA from the University of Virginia.
