Gary L'Heureux has extensive work experience in the field of occupational health and safety. Gary began their career at McCain Foods in 2007, where they served as a Health and Safety Trainer and later as a Health & Safety Professional. In these roles, they were responsible for developing and delivering safety training programs and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
In 2014, Gary joined Day & Ross as a Health & Driver Safety Officer for Western Canada. In this position, they conducted internal audits, provided technical support to maintain safety standards, and served as a coach and advisor to terminal teams and the regional health and safety team.
Gary then took on the role of Driver Safety Supervisor for Western Canada in 2020, where they focused on promoting driver safety and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Currently, Gary serves as the Director of Occupational Health & Safety for North America at Day & Ross. In this position, they are responsible for leading and coordinating the occupational health and safety department, developing strategies to strengthen the safety culture, and preventing injuries across the organization.
Gary L'Heureux pursued their education in the field of Health, Safety, and Environmental Processes at the University of New Brunswick from 2010 to 2011, earning a Certificate. Gary further enhanced their knowledge by obtaining a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification from the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals in 2012. Moreover, they completed a Transportation Safety Director Certificate program at Red Deer Polytechnic from 2015 to 2016. Gary L'Heureux may hold additional certifications, including a Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation from the Board Canadian Registered Safety Professional Designation.
