Paul Kivela

Paul Kivela has extensive work experience in the medical field. Paul is currently a Clinical Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to this, they worked as a Principal at The Medical Associates and as a Medical Director at Medic Ambulance. Paul also co-founded and served as the CEO of Elan Medical, a concierge medical practice focused on improving clients' physical and mental health. Additionally, Paul held the position of Chief Medical Officer at ConveneMed. Paul has also been actively involved in leadership roles at the American College of Emergency Physicians, including serving as President and Immediate Past President. Paul has served as the Managing Partner at Napa Valley Emergency Medical Group and as the Chief Strategic Officer at Code 3. Paul also held the position of Executive Vice President at Newsura Insurance Services, Inc. and served as the Chair of the Emergency Medicine Foundation.

Paul Kivela pursued their education at various institutions and obtained multiple degrees and certifications. Paul completed their Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 1982 and 1986. Following that, they attended the University of Illinois College of Medicine from 1986 to 1990, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.

In 1990, Paul undertook an Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Los Angeles County- Harbor UCLA, which they completed in 1993. Furthermore, in November 1995, they obtained certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine.

Later, in 2000, Paul pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Unfortunately, no specific duration for this degree program is provided.

Currently, Paul is enrolled in an Executive MBA program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with an expected completion date in 2020.

In addition to their degrees, Paul also holds certifications from the American Board of Emergency Medicine. In November 2015, they obtained the Emergency Medicine Certification from this institution, adding to their previous certification achieved in November 1995.
