Mariusz Niewczas

Senior Consulting Engineer at D2S

Mariusz Niewczas has a strong background in engineering and research. Mariusz started their career as an Associate Professor at Warsaw University of Technology, where they conducted research in physical design and process/device modeling algorithms. Mariusz also taught courses on VLSI design, EDA algorithm design, and circuit theory.

Mariusz then worked as a Visiting Research Scholar at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on research on pattern matching and regularity while also teaching analog design. During their time there, they published research papers and obtained a patent.

Next, they joined PDF Solutions as a Staff Software Engineer. In this role, they developed the Memory BitMAP tool in the dataPOWER yield management system, co-designed a relational database schema, and was responsible for data reading procedures and statistical post-processing.

Following that, they worked as a Principal Engineer at Abound Logic. Here, they were responsible for the analysis, design, and implementation of physical design algorithms for the raptor FPGA. This included tasks such as detailed placement, power estimation, and integrating third-party IP macros.

Mariusz then joined Avid as a Senior Principal Sound System Engineer. In this role, they worked on system level layers, embedded systems, and hardware/software interfaces in the ProTools group. Mariusz served as a link between software and hardware developers, assisting with firmware bring up, developing firmware updater, conducting EMC and power tests, and creating synchronization procedures. Mariusz also debugged issues in real-time systems on both OSX and MS Windows.

Currently, Mariusz is a Senior Consulting Engineer at D2S Inc. Mariusz'swork involves algorithm design and implementation for modeling and optimizing cutting-edge mask and lithography processes. Mariusz also specializes in GPU-accelerated implementation of numerical algorithms.

Mariusz Niewczas pursued their education in the field of Electrical Engineering. Mariusz obtained their Ph.D. from Warsaw University of Technology, where they studied from 1983 to 1993. Later, they undertook a post-doctoral program at Carnegie Mellon University from 1997 to 1999.
