Tom Karpovage

Vice President Of Operations at Cutting Edge Laser Technologies

Tom Karpovage has extensive work experience in various leadership roles within the manufacturing and medical industries. Tom is currently the Vice President of Implementation at OrthoLazer Orthopedic Laser Centers, where they oversee the implementation of innovative laser technology for orthopedic patients. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Operations at Cutting Edge Laser Technologies, focusing on integrating technology into medical practices.

Before transitioning into the medical industry, Karpovage held several positions at EG-GILERO, including Director of Quality, where they were responsible for quality management systems in multiple sites. Tom also worked at The Gleason Works for over 15 years, serving as the Director of the Machine Tool Business Unit, Special Projects Manager, Director of Manufacturing Operations, and Quality Operations Manager. Their roles at The Gleason Works involved global sales support, project management, lean manufacturing implementation, and quality improvement.

Earlier in their career, Karpovage was the Corporate Quality Manager at Century Mold Co. Inc., overseeing quality certification processes. Tom also worked as a Senior Quality Engineer at ITT Automotive, managing quality networks for wiper system production.

Karpovage began their career at General Motors Corp, Delco Chassis Division, where they held multiple roles as an Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Supervisor, and Quality Engineer. Tom developed skills in Kaizen, quality improvement, and APQP tools during their time there.

Overall, Karpovage's work experience spans over three decades and encompasses a range of responsibilities, including leadership, quality management, project management, and sales support.

Tom Karpovage completed their high school education at Fairport High School from 1982 to 1985. Tom then attended Clarkson University from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering/Management. In 1999, Tom pursued further education at theUniversity of Rochester - Simon Business School and received their MBA in Finance by the year 2001. Subsequently, in 2001 to 2002, they attended the RIT Center of Excellence in Lean Enterprise, specializing in Lean Enterprise Green Belt & Kaizen Certification. In 1993 to 1994, Tom participated in the General Motors Six Sigma Black Belt Program, focusing on Shainin Statistical Engineering. Additionally, they hold additional certifications in ISO13485, TS16949, ISO9001, Lean Enterprise Green Belt and Kaizen, as well as Six Sigma Black Belt.
