Ayman Mabrouk

Marine Spatial Ecologist at CSS

Ayman Mabrouk is a Marine Spatial Ecologist with extensive expertise in ecological assessment, spatial data analysis, habitat mapping, statistical analysis, and coral reef monitoring, currently working at the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) since February 2015. Ayman also served as a Knauss Sea Grant Fellow in 2015, specializing in coastal monitoring and assessment. Prior to NOAA, Ayman worked as a graduate research assistant at Michigan State University, where coral reef fish populations were assessed, and local artisanal fisheries were studied. Ayman's earlier roles included Assistant Director for Nature Conservation at the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency, where strategic management for Red Sea conservation was developed, and Manager of Nabq Protected Area, overseeing management plans and training for environmental officers. Ayman holds a Ph.D. in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University, a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology from Suez Canal University, and is currently pursuing additional education in Marine Ocean Policy and Conservation Biodiversity.
