Virginia Fernández has over 18 years of professional experience. From 2022 to present, they have been a Consultant at Redtree. From 2021 to 2022, they were a Project Manager at CSI. From 2014 to 2021, they were a Channel Marketing Manager at Graco, where they established a subsidiary in Montevideo and handled B2B marketing for 6 divisions, as well as promotional campaigns, distributor events, industrial and construction fairs, and new product launches. From 2008 to 2014, they were an Integration Process Consultant Engineer - Biochemicals at UPM - The Biofore Company, where they conducted pre-due diligences, technical and economic feasibility studies, and pre-engineering for bio-chemical production refineries from greenfield projects and existing plants. From 2006 to 2008, they were a Process Engineer in the Recovery Area - Technical Department at Metsä Fibre, where they worked on investment projects to optimize processes, expand plant capacity, and improve water, energy, and biomass efficiency. Finally, from 2002 to 2006, they were an Assistant Grade 1 - Thermodynamics Chair - Department of Chemical Engineering at the Universidad de la República, where they predicted and modeled brick combustion to obtain value-added products and studied combustion methods and compositions.

Virginia Fernández has a diverse educational background. Virginia received a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) from Sta. María Hnos. Maristas in 1995-1997. Virginia then went on to get their Chemical Engineer degree from Universidad de la República in 1998-2005. After that, they attended IEEM - Escuela de Negocios and obtained a PGP - Programa de Gestion de Proyectos in 2010 and a PDG - Programa de Desarrollo Gerencial in 2009-2010. Most recently, they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from IEEM - Escuela de Negocios in 2016-2017. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from LinkedIn in 2020, including Agile en acción: Construye tu equipo ágil, Fundamentos de Lean Six Sigma, and Fundamentos de Six Sigma.
