Elizabeth Peterson has a significant background in healthcare quality and patient safety. Elizabeth'smost recent position was as the Director of Quality Safety and Analytics at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU, where they started in December 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director, Ambulatory Quality & Patient Safety at Valley Medical Center from August 2021 to October 2022. Elizabeth also held the role of Quality Improvement Manager at University of Washington Medical Center from August 2018 to July 2021. Elizabeth gained experience in regional quality improvement as the Regional Director, Quality & Systems Improvement at the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association from August 2014 to June 2018. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Registered Nurse at Inova Health System from September 2012 to August 2014 and at Johns Hopkins Hospital from July 2010 to July 2012.

Elizabeth Peterson earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Promotion from The George Washington University, from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from the University of Virginia, from 2006 to 2010. Elizabeth has also obtained the Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification from the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) in August 2021.
