Alan Thornton has a wealth of work experience in a variety of industries. Alan began their career in 1997 as a Senior Recruitment Consultant for Comms Resources, a specialist search and selection consultancy servicing the Telecoms, ISP/ASP and Network Enterprise arenas. In 2001, they moved to City Technologies as a Recruitment Process Writer. In 2002, they joined Dell Computers as a Sales Account Manager in their UK business sales division. In 2003, they became a Senior Recruitment Consultant for Keane International, a construction recruitment specialist based in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford. From 2004 to 2005, they served as General Manager for Jordan Motors and Kennedy Crowley Motors. In 2008, they became a Senior Sales Account Manager for Bechtle Direct, one of Europe's largest IT resellers. In 2011, they took on the role of Business Development Manager for DSM direct, a supplier of IT Hardware, Software, Services and Solutions. In 2013, they moved to Intralinks as an Account Executive. Most recently, in 2018, they joined COREDINATE GmbH as an Account Manager.

Alan Thornton attended Sandymount Highschool in Dublin from 1977 to 1982.
