B.S. in Mathematics (Corban University)
M.S. in Mathematics (Oregon State University)
Professor Hedlund taught as an adjunct at Corban and as a graduate teaching assistant at Oregon State University before joining the Corban faculty. His graduate studies focused on number theory and crypto-analysis, and he has given numerous talks on number theory, including: “Polynomial Mappings with Polynomial Inverses,” “Rational Periodic Points of the Family of Quadratic Maps,” and others.
Professor Hedlund has also written a paper on Pollard’s rho algorithm for the discrete logarithm problem, which included an implementation of Pollard’s method to crack key transfer methods such as the Diffie-Hellman algorithm.
