Christopher Ren

Senior Security Engineer at Contessa

Christopher Ren has worked in various roles since 2011. Christopher began as an Intern at the Oregon State University Botany and Plant Pathology Lab, where they developed a program with Perl to identify candidate small RNA encoding genes within the plant pathogen Pseudomonas syringae. In 2014, they became an Intern at the Vanderbilt Human-Machine Teaming Lab, where they enhanced a swarm behavior simulator, adding three dimensional capabilities and increased the ease of user visualization of the swarm. Christopher also created a halo and minimap as additional visualization options and implemented four novel swarm visualizations. In 2015, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Vanderbilt Human-Machine Teaming Lab, where they determined the viability of various swarm behavioral models on the performance metrics of eight different tasks and performed statistical analysis on the resulting large data sets. In 2016, they joined eviCore healthcare as an Information Protection Lead Analyst, followed by a role as an Information Protection Analyst. Most recently, in 2022, they became the Senior Security Engineer at Contessa Health.

Christopher Ren obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Vanderbilt University in 2016, majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics. In December 2020, they obtained a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from the EC-Council.
