Mark Gallant

Director, Flight Operations at Conair Aerial Firefighting

Mark Gallant has extensive experience in flight operations and leadership roles. Mark served as the Director of Flight Operations at Conair Aerial Firefighting, starting in December 2019. Prior to that, they worked as the Chief Pilot at Conair from September 2016 to December 2019.

Before joining Conair, Mark held the position of Vice President of Flight Operations at Sunwing Airlines Inc. from June 2011 to 2016. In this role, they were responsible for the control of operations and operational standards of a fleet of 38 Boeing 737 NG aircraft deployed worldwide. Mark also provided strategic direction and leadership to a departmental staff of over 400.

Mark's experience also includes serving as the Vice President of Flight Operations at First Air from November 2008 to June 2011. During this time, they were responsible for the control of operations and operational standards of a fleet of 20 aircraft operating in the Canadian Arctic and worldwide charter operations. Mark provided leadership to a departmental staff of over 300.

Prior to their tenure at First Air, Mark worked at Skyservice Airlines where they held the position of Vice President of Flight Operations from September 2003 to November 2008. In this role, they were responsible for the control of operations and operational standards of a fleet of up to 25 aircraft deployed worldwide. Mark also provided strategic direction and leadership to a departmental staff of over 300.

Mark's career in the aviation industry began in 1997 when they were recruited as a direct entry Captain at Skyservice Airlines. Within 18 months, they were appointed as the Manager of Training, where they successfully rebuilt the training department and developed training programs to meet regulatory requirements.

Overall, Mark Gallant has a strong background in flight operations and has held various leadership positions within the aviation industry.

Mark Gallant has received training in A320 and A330 Type Ratings at the Airbus Training Centre and in B737NG and B767 Type Ratings at the Boeing Training Center.
