Luis Leija, MD has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Luis is currently serving as the Director Physician Builder & APPs at Baptist Health since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Epic STS Program Leader at Baptist Health starting from April 2021. Luis also has experience as an Engagement Director - Provider Programs in Healthcare IT at CSI, starting from November 2022. Luis began their career as an MD at Hospital Central Dr Ignacio Morones Prieto in 2007 and also worked as a Professor at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi from January 2009 to April 2012.

Luis Leija, MD received their Medical Doctor degree in Medicine from Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi from 1991 to 1997. Luis then pursued a degree in Pediatrics at the Autnomous University of San Luis Potosi from 2003 to 2006. Subsequently, they completed their specialization in Pediatric Pulmonology at Children's Hospital of Mexico, UNAM, where they focused on the field of Pediatric Pulmonology. Additionally, they completed a Pediatric Pulmonology Residency Program at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Although it is not specified, it is known that they have also had a connection with Hospital Infantil de Mexico. Furthermore, there is mention of enrollment at the University of Texas at Tyler, though no further details are provided.
