Bharti Ranavaya has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the field of commercialization, business development, and technology transfer. They started their career as a Laboratory Technician at Bayer in 2000. They then went on to work at Medici, where they played a role in delivering a cultural change to boost commercial awareness and revenue. At Agilent Technologies, Bharti worked as an Account Manager, focusing on increasing company revenue within the genomics portfolio. They joined NHS Innovations London as a Partnership Liaison and Technology Transfer Manager, where they developed relationships with healthcare professionals and uncovered commercially viable technologies. Bharti then moved to Oxford University Innovation, serving as a Technology Transfer Manager and specializing in lifesciences, healthcare, and MedTech. They successfully completed spin-out companies during this time. Currently, Bharti is working at Commercialization at UHN as the Principal of New Venture Creation. They are responsible for implementing commercial strategies and managing various agreements associated with service and material transfer, research collaborations, licensing, and new company formation. They have also independently spearheaded the PMCC Innovation Acceleration Fund at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Bharti Ranavaya completed an Advanced Negotiations Program at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, with an expected completion date in 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a certification in Intellectual Property Licensing from York University in the years 2018 to 2019. Bharti holds a PhD in Quantitative Plant Genetics from the University of Birmingham, which they earned from 2002 to 2007. Bharti also completed a BSc Honours (2.1) in Biomedical Sciences at the University of the West of England, from 1998 to 2002.
