Akiko Ito is the current head of design at CloudTrucks. Akiko has also held the position of head of product design at Harbor, Inc. for 2 years and 6 months. Prior to that, they worked as a principal designer, product designer, and senior UX designer at Zenefits for 2 years and 3 months. Before that, they spent 3 years at Evernote as a senior designer and senior UX designer. There, they were responsible for designing the user experience for the sign up flow, leading the design of the announcement feature, and leading design projects to improve user acquisition, conversion, and retention. Akiko also refined and reestablished Evernote's brand identity, including their brand visual language and user interface guidelines. Akiko also designed a broad array of email communications for product updates, user onboarding, reactivation, and engagement, monthly newsletters, and vertical marketing campaigns. Furthermore, they art directed illustrators, photographers, and design team members. Finally, they developed creative for paid digital ads. Before their time at Evernote, they worked as a contract designer/art director for 11 years. Her clients included Nike, Cannondale, Taryn Rose, Elixir Design, Volume Inc., ReadyMade Magazine, Zanbato, Vendop, Zimmermann Design, Butterfly Yoga. Akiko was responsible for art direction, UI / UX design, brand identity development, content strategy, information architecture, production, press supervision. After their time as a contract designer/art director, they spent 2 years and 9 months as a senior designer at Larsen.
Akiko Ito has a University of California, Berkeley, Executive Education Program and a California College of the Arts BFA in Design. Akiko also has an Augsburg College education in International Relations.
