Josh Barnes, Ph.D. is an experienced higher education professional currently serving as the Student Services Excellence Lead at Clemson University since July 2012, where responsibilities include leading university-wide strategic planning initiatives. As Executive Director of the Center for Student Leadership & Engagement, Josh Barnes oversees a comprehensive range of programs, including new student orientation and leadership development for over 500 student organizations. Previous roles at Clemson University include Director of Student Involvement & Leadership and Senior Associate Director of Campus Activities & Events. Prior to Clemson, positions held include Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Residence Life at Newberry College, along with roles at Young Harris College and the University of West Florida. Josh Barnes holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Clemson University, a Master’s Degree in College Personnel Administration from the University of West Florida, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of North Georgia.
