Manuel Carmona has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and sectors. Manuel began their career at UC Davis - COSMOS Program, where they served as the Alumni Coordinator/Operations Officer and later as an Academic Coordinator. In these roles, they conducted research, prepared reports, and coordinated educational programs. Manuel then moved on to the City of Sacramento - Neighborhood Services Department as a Program Analyst, where they evaluated and implemented administrative policies. Manuel then joined the City of Claremont - Human Services Department as a Program Coordinator, managing recreation programs and community center operations. Manuel gained experience in human resources and code enforcement as a Senior Human Resources Analyst and Acting Neighborhood Services Supervisor at the City of El Monte. Manuel's most recent work experience has been with the City of Pasadena, where they have held various roles, including Acting Director of Public Health, Deputy Director of Public Health, and Management Analyst in both the Public Health and Public Works departments. In these positions, they have been responsible for fiscal operations, budget management, and human resource coordination.

Manuel Carmona completed their Executive Master of Public Health degree from the University of Washington School of Public Health in 2023.
