Derek Lofgren began their work experience as a Financial Service Assistant at North Country Business Products in March 2015, where they worked until April 2018. Derek then moved on to St. Croix County, where they held the role of Lead Finance Specialist from April 2018 to July 2019. Currently, Lofgren is a Financial Analyst at the City of Minneapolis, a position they have held since July 2019.

Derek Lofgren attended Bemidji State University from 2009 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance.
