Chris Harris was elected in May 2018 and reelected in 2020 as the At-Large Councilmember, being appointed Mayor Pro Tem in September 2019. He grew up in Navasota, Texas, and attended Sam Houston State University. Mr. Harris has been employed in the public safety and emergency management field with various law enforcement agencies since 1998.

Councilmember Harris actively supports the Katy Prairie Conservancy, Katy Heritage Society Lifetime Member, and West IH10 Chamber of Commerce. Harris has served the community in the following capacities: Katy Development Authority, Charter Review Commission, Landscape Appeal Board, HOA Board President, Leadership Katy ISD, and volunteer firefighter.
