Karyn Ferrick is an accomplished Government and Legislative Affairs Officer for the City of Grand Rapids since September 2017, leading advocacy and lobbying efforts while advising city leadership on legislative and regulatory matters. Ferrick's prior experience includes roles as Assistant Deputy Director at the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Chief of Staff at the Michigan Talent Investment Agency, and Director of Legislative Affairs and Director of the DHS Office of Legislative Services at the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, where responsibilities included managing legislative priorities and budget negotiations. Ferrick's legal expertise was honed as Assistant Senate Majority Counsel in the Michigan Senate. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Michigan State University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature from Michigan State University.
