Jonathan Cour has been a police officer with the City of Grand Rapids since 2007. Prior to that, they worked as a firefighter and EMT with the City of Grandville and Georgetown Township. Jonathan is certified in water and ice rescues and has general scuba equipment maintenance and repair experience. Jonathan also has experience in construction, sawing various types of wood and metal, and operating pneumatic air guns and compressors.

Jonathan Cour began their educational career by obtaining an Associate in Arts from Grand Rapids Community College. Jonathan then transferred to Grand Valley State University where they obtained their Bachelors in Business Economics. After working in the field for a few years, Jonathan decided to return to school to obtain their Master in Public Administration from Grand Valley State University. Jonathan also obtained a Maintenace and Alteration License from the State of Michigan Builders License.
