Søren Glasius has extensive work experience in the IT industry, with a focus on Groovy and Grails technology. Søren is currently a Board Member at the Grails Foundation. Prior to this, they worked as a Groovy and Grails Nerd at Gennemtænkt IT A/S and as a Consultant and Developer at Cirrus Identity. Søren also served as a Board Member at Dagli'Brugsen Gl. Rye and as the Chairman of the Board at GR8 ApS, the company behind GR8Conf Europe. In addition, Søren co-founded and served as the CEO of GR8Conf, an annual conference on Groovy and Grails technologies. Søren also worked as a Software Engineer and Grails Advocate at OCI, and as the Identity Management Web App Lead at UC Berkeley. Earlier in their career, Søren was a Groovy & Grails specialist, System Architect, and Java developer at OpenMinds. Søren also owned and operated their own consultancy firm called Sviluppo.dk, where they worked on various Java assignments.

Søren Glasius completed their Studentereksamen in Matematik og Fysik at Bjerringbro Gymnasium from 1987 to 1990. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark from 1990 to 1996.
