Philip Mertens has over two decades of experience in facilities management and project coordination, currently serving as the M & R Projects Coordinator at Chesapeake College since May 2002. In this role, Philip oversees the development, implementation, and management of construction and repair projects across all campus locations. Previously, as the Assistant Director of Facilities, responsibilities included managing daily operations of the College's Physical Plant and assisting in capital project development. Philip also held key positions with the City of Annapolis from January 1996 to June 2002, including Park Administrator and Master Inspector for plumbing, gas, and mechanical systems, where responsibilities involved leading inspection efforts for both commercial and residential projects and evaluating capital facilities fees for construction initiatives.
