John "JC" Coffey has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. John "JC"'smost recent role was as the Executive Director, Unmanned Systems (UXS) at Cherokee Federal, where they established and led the unmanned systems program in support of various government and industry organizations. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President, Unmanned Systems Division at TriVector Services Inc., where they supported the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program Office and conducted business development. John "JC" also held leadership positions at Naval Research Laboratory, BUPERS Sea Duty Component Dallas, and Naval Air Systems Command. Earlier in their career, they served in various roles in the U.S Navy, including as an Instructor Pilot and Catapult & Arresting Gear Officer. Throughout their career, they have contributed to strategic planning, program management, systems engineering, and business development in the field of unmanned systems.
John "JC" Coffey has a diverse education history. John "JC" attended the University of Notre Dame from 1982 to 1986, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering. In 1992, they enrolled at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. During this time, they specialized in Business Administration and Management, as well as Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology. In 2004, Coffey pursued further education at The George Washington University School of Business, obtaining a Masters Certificate in Government Contracting from 2004 to 2006.
Beyond their academic achievements, Coffey also possesses various certifications. In 1993, they acquired FAA ATP, CFI, CFII, MEI, and Remote Pilot certifications from the FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam).
