Tiago Marques is a Senior Research Scientist at the Champalimaud Foundation since December 2022. Previously, Tiago served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from January 2019 to September 2022, focusing on the development of computer vision algorithms inspired by human vision under the guidance of an advisor. Before that, Tiago was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Champalimaud Foundation from September 2010 to December 2018, studying hierarchical cortical processing in the mouse visual cortex under the supervision of Leopoldo Petreanu. An experience as an Associate Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group from May 2009 to August 2010 involved strategy and implementation projects across various industries. Tiago's early career included an MSc Fellowship at IPFN, where the development of a low-cost embedded system for plasma density calculation at a Tokamak was undertaken. Educational credentials include a PhD in Neuroscience from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and an MSc in Engineering Physics and Technology from Instituto Superior Técnico.
