Liying Cheng

Chair, Board Of Trustees at Center for Applied Linguistics

Liying Cheng currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Center for Applied Linguistics since January 2022 and has been a Professor at Queen's University since July 2000, engaging in research, teaching, and service. Liying Cheng has held multiple leadership roles, including Professor and Director of the Assessment and Evaluation Group, as well as Acting Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research. Previous experiences include a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Alberta focusing on applied measurement and evaluation, and a tenure as Assistant Professor at the Open University of Hong Kong in language education. Liying Cheng holds a Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Hong Kong and a Master of Arts from the University of Reading in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language.
