Tonya Runnels, SPHR, is an experienced Human Resources professional currently serving as the Human Resources Director at Centennial Peaks Hospital since December 2021, where support encompasses talent acquisition, employee relations, and leadership development, notably assisting employees during a FEMA-designated disaster. Additionally, since January 2014, Tonya has operated Tonya Runnels HR Consulting LLC, providing customized HR solutions and policy updates. Prior to these roles, Tonya held significant positions at Via Mobility Services as General Manager of Administration and VP of HR, and at Wal-Mart Transportation as an HR Manager, where responsibilities included overseeing HR functions for large organizations. Early career experiences include roles at the City of Champaign as HR Assistant and at GNC as Assistant Manager. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Colorado State University and two Master's degrees in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
