Adam Koussari-Amin

Director, Talent Management at Cengage

Adam Koussari-Amin is the Director of Talent Management at Cengage. Adam has over ten years of experience in Human Resources and Business Operations.

Adam started their career as a Senior Business Analyst at Universal Service Administrative Co. (USAC). There, they worked on various initiatives focused on organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Adam also developed and executed an acquisition integration strategy, which proved successful in helping employees understand and transition successfully to the new company.

In September 2015, Adam became the People Operations Manager at Learning Objects. In this role, they oversaw all aspects of the HR function, including recruiting, talent management, employee relations, and benefits administration. Adam also conducted company-wide pulse checks to assess the needs of employees and manage specific action plans to achieve positive change. Under Adam’s leadership, the team successfully redesigned the recruiting program, which led to improved hiring outcomes.

In August 2017, Adam was promoted to Director of Talent Management at Cengage. In this role, they are responsible for leading the talent management function for the organization. Adam works closely with the Cengage HR team to support employee lifecycle initiatives and ensure that employees have the resources and support they need to be successful.

Adam Koussari-Amin has a Graduate Certificate in Education Technology Leadership/Instructional Design from The George Washington University, a BS in Commerce with concentrations in Marketing and Management from the University of Virginia, and a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia. Adam is certified by SHRM as a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and by HRCI (Human Resource Certification Institute) as a SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources).

Adam Koussari-Amin works with Emily Sweeney - Senior Director, HR/Talent Strategic Initiatives, Andrea Messineo - Senior Manager, Learning and Development, and Shelley McLeod - Human Resources Generalist/Sr HR Coordinator. Their manager is Jeri Herman, Senior Vice President of Human Resources.
