Stephen Loyd, MD has worked as the Chief Medical Officer at Cedar Recovery, where they focused on combating the stigma around opioid addiction and promoted the benefits of Medication Assisted Treatment. Stephen has also held the role of Chief Medical Officer at JourneyPure. In addition, Dr. Loyd has served as an Associate Professor and Vice Chair at East Tennessee State University and as the Drug Czar at the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Stephen began their career as an Internal Medicine Physician at the DEP.OF VETERANS AFFAIRS MEDICAL CENTER.
Dr. Stephen Loyd completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in the years 1985 to 1989. Following that, they pursued a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College of Medicine between 1995 and 1999.
