Jena Pruitt has work experience in various educational and fitness settings. In 2021, they worked as an Elementary School Teacher at Accomack County Public Schools. Prior to that, they were a Special Education Teacher at Caroline County Public Schools, starting in 2011. In this role, they co-taught Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten inclusion classes, provided accommodations and modified curriculum for students with special education needs, and conducted IEP meetings. Jena also worked as a Trainer at Another Level Fitness - Crossfit Nation starting in 2013 and as a Gymnastics Instructor at Chesapeake Gymnastics starting in 2012. At Chesapeake Gymnastics, they taught recreation gymnastics classes for children ages 3-14, coached a competitive team for children ages 5-13, and provided private lessons.

Jena Pruitt holds a Master's degree in Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach, which was obtained from Salisbury University between 2013 and 2017. Prior to that, they attended PennWest Clarion from 2006 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.
