Karen Sodomick is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Chief Communications Officer at the Carnegie Institution for Science since March 2022. Previously, Karen held key roles as a Senior Communications Consultant for the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association and Harlem Children's Zone, where responsibilities included developing strategic communication plans and advising on media relations. As Vice President of Communications at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Karen restructured the communications office and enhanced visibility through various media strategies. Karen's earlier roles include Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Phoenix House, Managing Director of Marketing and Events at Teach For America, and Public Affairs Outreach Manager at NASA. With a strong academic background, including a Master's and a Bachelor's degree from Auburn University, Karen has also contributed to education as an instructor in communication.
