Bjorn Brooks is an accomplished research scientist with extensive experience in climate data analysis, machine learning, and environmental modeling. Currently serving as a Research Scientist at Carbon Solutions since July 2023, Bjorn co-founded Perceptual Informatics in January 2019, focusing on high-resolution satellite imagery and proprietary change detection. Previous roles include Data Scientist at Living Carbon, where responsibilities included forest carbon science and modeling, and Research Associate at the North Carolina Institute for Climate Studies, where Bjorn contributed to cloud data archive and performance computing. With a strong academic background, including a Ph.D. in Geology from Iowa State University, Bjorn has held various research and teaching positions, including at the U.S. Forest Service, Saint Francis Xavier University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
