Alex Reis has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Starting in 1999 at Agfa Healthcare, Alex worked as a Software Developer and gradually moved up to become a Product Architect/Intellectual Property Liaison, Product Architecture Site Lead, Solution Architect/Product Architecture Site Lead, and Research Architect. In these roles, Alex was responsible for product requirements, software design, and long-term vision for various products.
In 2014, Alex joined D2L and held positions such as Senior Implementation Consultant, Product Manager for Customizations, Senior Product Manager for Customizations and Customer Engagement, and Product Director for Growth and Retention. In these roles, Alex focused on customer retention and growth, product management, and identifying market needs for future product roadmap.
Currently, Alex is working at Canada Health Infoway as the Director of the Digital Health Interoperability Portfolio. In this role, Alex is responsible for the development and delivery of standards and solutions to support the pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap. The focus is on creating state-of-the-art interoperability solutions based on international standards and adopted by the market.
Alex Reis has completed a degree in Transformational and Visionary Leadership and Developing Strategic Business Models from the Michigan State University - Eli Broad College of Business in 2023. Prior to that, Alex attended Conestoga College, where they pursued a degree in Computer Programming/Analysis with a focus on Computers and Business. In addition to their formal education, Alex has obtained certifications such as Design Thinking: Understanding the Process and What Is a PMO? from LinkedIn in May 2023. They also earned the Certified Product Manager certification from the Association of International Product Marketing & Management in 2017.
