Philip Van Haaster is the current Dean of the Gordon & Jill Bourns College of Engineering at California Baptist University. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President and General Manager of Laird Performance Materials from January 1997 to January 2020. In this role, they were responsible for the full P&L management for Laird's North American organization, including operations, distribution, sales, strategy, and capital management. Philip also served as an Inside Director Board member for a Special Security Agreement (SSA) site in the United States.
Throughout their career, Philip has demonstrated their ability to lead and grow organizations. Under their leadership, Laird's North American business grew significantly, becoming one of the company's key growth markets. Philip has also been instrumental in developing and implementing strategies that have helped Laird to achieve success in highly competitive markets.
Philip's experience and expertise will be invaluable in their new role as Dean of the Gordon & Jill Bourns College of Engineering at California Baptist University. Philip is well-positioned to provide strong leadership and guidance to the college as it continues to grow and thrive.
Philip Van Haaster attended the University of Southern California for their undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering. Philip then attended the University of California, Los Angeles for their master's degree in mechanical engineering. Finally, they attended California Baptist University for their doctorate in business administration.
They work with Tae Sung - Dean, Student Success, David Pearson - Dean of the College of Health Science, and Dirk Davis - AVP for Academics, Online & Professional Studies. Their manager is Ronald L. Ellis, President.
