Markus Schenkel is an experienced financial professional currently serving as the Chief Accounting and Controlling at GVB Gruppe since May 2020. Previously, Markus held the position of Senior Financial Auditor at BDO Switzerland from September 2017 to April 2020. Prior to that, Markus worked at EY for nearly 15 years, progressing from Assurance Audit Senior to Senior Manager in Financial Accounting Advisory Services, and also served as an Assurance Manager for Financial Services Insurance in Toronto. Markus has a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) focused on Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from Berner Fachhochschule BFH, complemented by education at the Academy of Certified Accountants in Zurich.
