Professor Leslie Croxford is a British subject, born in Alexandria in 1944. He received his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in History from Cambridge University and went on to teach there. He has also taught at Tsukuba University (Japan) and in the U.S.A at Rutgers, Emory and Harvard, as well as The American University in Cairo. Professor Croxford then joined Suffolk University, Boston, and created its campus in Madrid, Spain, becoming its Director for ten years. He returned to Cairo in 2005 to help found the British University in Egypt, leading on the validation of its programmes by UK universities (Loughborough, Queen Margaret and London South Bank), becoming Senior Vice-President for Learning and Teaching.
