Karen Le Poupon

Senior Research Associate at Bright Peak Therapeutics

Karen Le Poupon has worked in the field of research for over 15 years. Karen began their career in 2005 as a Research Assistant at Immunologie et Chimie Thérapeutiques, where they were responsible for the design, synthesis, and purification of peptidomimetic oligoureas for antimicrobial applications, as well as In Vitro Hemolysis Assay and MIC determination. In 2006, they joined Polyphor Ltd as a Scientist in Parallel Synthesis, where they became fully operational in parallel synthesis and the use of lab automation equipment (Syro, Symphony, for solid support parallel synthesis). Karen also produced macrocycle peptide libraries from 24 to 576-array format (milligram scale) as well as upscaling up to gram scale, and performed chemical derivatization of peptides and building blocks, protecting groups manipulation, diverse chemistry such as acylation, alkylation, allyl ester protection/deprotection. Most recently, in 2021, they began working as a Research Associate at Bright Peak Therapeutics.

Karen Le Poupon obtained a Master in Organic Chemistry from Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier in 2004, after having obtained a Diploma of Engineer in Organic Chemistry from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Ingénieurs en Arts Chimiques et Technologiques in 2003.
