Field Application Scientist at Aiforia

Rute Pedrosa, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of molecular pathology and diagnostics. Rute started their career as a Laboratory Technician at Erasmus MC, where they gained expertise in histological and pathological testing, as well as performing immunocytochemistry techniques. Rute then became a Molecular Diagnostics Analyst, supporting routine diagnostic pathology and developing side research projects. During their time at Erasmus MC, they also pursued their Ph.D. in Molecular Pathology, focusing on the relationship between breast cancer cells and activated T lymphocytes in brain metastases. After completing their Ph.D., Rute worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Support Casper, where they managed projects related to immune content and activation status in pancreatic and colon cancer patients. Currently, they are working as a Field Application Scientist at Aiforia Technologies, where they help pathologists and scientists improve tissue diagnostics and medical image analysis using artificial intelligence and cloud-based technology.

Rute Pedrosa, Ph.D., completed their education in a chronological manner. Rute obtained a Bachelor Degree in Pathological, Cytological and Thanathological Anatomy in the field of Biomedical Sciences from Escola Superior de Saúde Egas Moniz between the years 2004 and 2007. Following this, in 2007 to 2008, they pursued further studies in the same field at Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Lisboa, where they also earned a Bachelor Degree in Pathological, Cytological and Thanathological Anatomy. Rute Pedrosa then pursued their Ph.D. at Erasmus University Rotterdam, specializing in the field of Pathogenesis of brain metastatic disease.
