Mary K McGuffey started their work experience in 2002 as a Paralegal at The Home Depot, where they worked until 2009. Mary K then joined Beazer Homes in 2011 as a Paralegal and stayed until 2012. In 2012, they joined Boys & Girls Clubs of America as a Legal Specialist.

Mary K McGuffey attended Darlington School from 1978 to 1990. Mary K then enrolled in Huntingdon College from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
