Stephen Akard is an experienced attorney currently serving at Bose McKinney & Evans LLP since August 2020. Previously, Stephen held multiple roles at the U.S. Department of State from January 2017 to August 2020, including Acting Inspector General, Ambassador for the Office of Foreign Missions, and Senior Advisor and Acting Chief of Staff for the Office of the Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment. From September 2011 to January 2017, Stephen was Chief of Staff and Vice President & General Counsel at the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, and from 2005 to 2011, served as Director of International Development. Stephen's career began as a Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Department of State from 1997 to 2005. Stephen holds a JD from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and an MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
