Melissa Knerr is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Boone County Government in Missouri since July 2021. Prior to this role, Melissa worked as an Assistant Public Defender at the Missouri State Public Defender from August 2018 to June 2021 and gained valuable experience as a Rule 13 Legal Intern at the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney's Office in the summer of 2017. Additional experience includes a position as a Legal Intern at the United States Attorney's Office and a Student Aide role at the University of Missouri. Melissa holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, School of Law, obtained in 2018, and a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Classics from Duquesne University, completed in 2015.
