S. Crystal Garcia serves as the Director of Data Science for Medicare Advantage at Emergent Holdings since August 2021 and has been the founder of Crystal Clear Exams since 2018, where the focus is on distributing actuarial exam review manuals for CAS Exams 8 and 9. Previous experience includes serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Chubb from 2017 to 2021, where S. Crystal Garcia developed and refined predictive models for claim analytics. As an actuary at Verscend from 2016 to 2017, responsibilities involved reviewing insurer data for risk adjustment and developing methodologies for identifying fraudulent practices. S. Crystal Garcia has also worked as a consultant at Buck Consultants from 2012 to 2016, and has extensive teaching experience ranging from Boston Public Schools to Johns Hopkins CTY and The Academy at Harvard Square. S. Crystal Garcia holds a Master of Education in Mathematics Teacher Education from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University.
